National Park Yangudi-Rassa
Difficult to access is located 500 km north east of Addis Abeba and has an area of 4,730 km2. The park is located at an altitude between 450m and 1.459m. It was created to protect the nearly extinct African donkey, subspecies that lives between Ethiopia and Somalia.
The habitat is arid, semi desert and low scrub forest.
In their pastures you can find Grevy’s zebras, baboons and Oryx Beisa. Ostriches can also be seen. The park has up to 136 bird species, of which two are endemic.
The temperature is usually high so it is recommended to visit preferably during the cold season (December to February).
